Dogs do die in this weather. We were devastated to hear that a dog died last week during the last heatwave and we still saw others being walked in the heat. Please, don’t risk it. Don’t gamble your dog’s life for the sake of a walk. 😰 Overheating can happen in minutes — especially to flat-faced breeds, overweight dogs, dogs with health issues, older dogs, or puppies ☀️ Know the Signs of Heatstroke in Dogs: • Heavy panting that doesn’t stop • Drooling or thick, sticky saliva • Bright red or pale gums • Lethargy or confusion • Vomiting or diarrhoea • Wobbly legs or collapsing • Seizures • Loss of consciousness 🐾 Heatstroke is a medical emergency you MUST act fast • Move them to a cool, shaded space • Offer small amounts of cool water • Soak a towel in cool water and place over their body • Call your vet immediately Early action can save their life.
